We are currently hiring for the position of

SHOP MANAGER

POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for managing locksmith service activities in the shop, including daily opening and close. Organize and maintain shop inventory. Maintain tools and machinery. Provide general support to field service technicians.

Provides locksmith services to walk-in customers, including diagnostic work, repair, rekey and product sales activity. Manage shop cash register; generate customer invoices; answer customer inquiries, both face-to-face and via telephone.

Face-to-face customer interaction is extensive; this includes providing clients with advice on security product options, and recommendations that best meet their needs. The ability to communicate clearly, confidently and with integrity is essential in this position. Customer satisfaction in the products and services delivered is of primary importance. Politeness and professionalism are required.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Daily open and close of the locksmith shop
• Provide service to walk-in customers
• Execute cash register transactions for walk-in services
• Client-account billing and invoicing for walk-in services
• Answer direct phone calls: Manage inquiries and re-route calls as needed
• Manage materials for customer orders and shop storefront (ordering, receiving, stocking, coordinating with install technicians)
• Assist where needed to provide technician dispatching
• Ensure shop security system is armed at closing

DAILY/PERIODIC TASKS:

• Maintain storefront inventory in an organized and efficient manner
• Responsible for organization and adequate supply of shop inventory
• Maintenance of shop tools and machinery
• Provide general support to field service technicians
• Review current materials ready for scheduled jobs
• Receiving of materials (supplies, customer orders, etc.)
• Managing receipt discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with service technicians; keep dispatcher advises of all such issues that may impact scheduled services

KEY COMPETENCIES:
REQUIRED:
• State of California licensed locksmith
• California driver’s license in good standing
• Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis (toolboxes, supplies, etc.)
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Proven customer-facing service experience
• Polite and well-mannered people-person
• Knowledgeable in residential and commercial security hardware products
• High level of manual dexterity and visual acuity
• Skilled in mechanical and related hardware troubleshooting/problem solving
• Ability to maintain precise high-security key systems
• Good written communication skills, including basic email functions
• Good time management skills and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple job functions
• Ability to provides services in accordance with company policies and service
level expectations

RECOMMENDED:
• 2 years of experience in providing locksmith services
• High-school diploma required
• Some secondary education preferred
• Manufacturer product certifications desirable (Baldwin, Medeco, Schlage/Primus)
• Willingness to improve and expand skillset and continue/maintain certifications
